British singer/artist/model Viktoria Modesta has been trendsetting since her debut on The X Factor final. This bionic beauty has collaborated with Channel 4 – Born Risky initiative campaign breaking barriers for those overcoming their disability through their talent. At the age of 20, she made the decision to undergo a below-the-knee amputation after undergoing 15 surgeries. Since then, Modesta has overcome her physical differences and made a name for herself. Shutting down the stereotypes that those with disabilities can’t be iconic in an industry full of norms, she tells PEOPLE Magazine,

“I didn’t think of myself as disabled at all. I never have, I still don’t, and I think it would be so unfair to say that I represent all disabled people. I’m just hoping that I’m a catalyst for the change that needs to happen.”

With her cutting edge style and groundbreaking prosthetics by The Alternative Limb Project she’s definitely making her presence known. Modesta highlight of her career thus far has been her performance in the Paralympic Closing Ceremony along with her 6-minute film-stlye video, Prototype, which made its premier on YouTube with over a million views. She’s on her way to the top and I don’t think she’s stopping anytime soon.
