Looks like Jared’s foot long have gotten him in some serious trouble. The man we’ve seen for over a decade on countless commercials for deli restaurant Subway is finally leaving the company after 15 years due to a child pornography investigation.
Jared Fogle, 37, was named the food chain’s most notable face in 2000, using his story of using the “Subway Diet” to help portray the deli’s healthy alternative to other fast-food competitors. Jared and the sandwich chain announced it’s mutual agreement to suspend their long-time relationship due to a criminal investigation.
“Jared continues to cooperate with authorities and he expects no actions to be forthcoming. Both Jared and Subway agree that this was the appropriate step to take, a representative from Subway announced.”
Jared’s Indiana home was raided Tuesday morning by the FBI. This investigation comes after Russell Taylor; the former executive director of Fogle’s charity was arrested two months ago on child pornography charges. Fogle’s charity is devoted to focusing on combating childhood obesity and apparently Mr. Taylor was filming child pornography in his home between 2012 and 2015. Over 400 child pornography videos were found at his home.
Taylor was charged in May with seven federal counts of producing childhood pornography and one possession charge. He later attempted to commit suicide in his jail cell. Jared has expressed that he is shocked by Mr. Taylor’s arrest.
