With Straight Outta Compton climbing the charts and bringing $60 million on opening weekend, other West Coast rap legends are already working on a follow up sequel called “Dogg Pound 4 Life.”
TMZ broke the news, stating that Dogg Pound 4 Life will pick up where N.W.A left off. Daz, the Dogg Pound trouper told TMZ that the film would showcase the rise of Snoop Dogg, Nate Dogg, Tupac Shakur, Warren G, and more. Although the film will focus on the music, Daz says it will not suppress gang violence and its effect on hip-hop culture.
Ice Cube will not be hands on with the production of this film but it’s been said that he’s given his stamp of approval. Dr. Dre’s son, Curtis Young, has allegedly been casted to take over that role while they are currently casting for others. And while Suge Knight played a huge role in music during this time, he will not be working on set but the Death Row head honcho will definitely be included in the story line.
No date has been released on this project as of yet.
