Singer Rihanna announces another fashion collection but this time it is with Dior as they collaborate to make sunglasses. The Bajan singer is known to rock her sunglasses on & off the stage and is clearly taking the fashion world by storm.
As part of Dior’s brand ambassadorship, the singer joined forces with the French fashion empire on a collection of futuristic sunglasses simply called “Rihanna.” She is no stranger working with Dior as Rihanna was named the first African American spokesperson and even starred in their “Secret Garden IV” campaign, shot by Steven Klein in Versailles.
Here is what Dior chief executive officer Sidney Toledano said about working with her:
“We are very pleased to partner for the second time with Rihanna, she is an artist, an entertainer, an entrepreneur, a philanthropist, and a style icon for today’s generation.”
Her vintage 2000 frame was inspired by Star Trek’s Lieutenant Commander Geordi La Forge. She is a fan of the sunglasses and not only dons them but also promotes them on social media. They will be available in retail in different colors like silver, pink, blue, green, and red, and will cost $840, while a deluxe 24-karat gold-plated version will cost $1,950.
They will hit retails in June. Currently, she is the creative director at Puma, launched her Denim Desserts footwear collection with Manolo Blahnik and inked a $10 million deal with LVMH Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton make up collection.
Congratulations to this mogul in the making!
