“That is not what I said. What I said is, ‘this is not about the women. This is about something else. This is about the obliteration of legacy.'”
Phylicia Rashad says she was misquoted during an exclusive interview on World News Tonight with David Muir on Wednesday night. Rashad, 66, states that she wasn’t being dismissive during her interview with Roger Friedman from Showbiz411 and was wrongfully misquoted “Forget these women”.
“I am a woman, I would never say such a thing.”
When asked to comment on the Bevy and Bill Cosby accusations, she declined.
“I can’t speak to those things and wouldn’t want to.”
Rashad’s interview comments are followed by a press conference of three more accusers called by attorney Gloria Allred. Allred had a mouthful to say to Rashad.
“Phylicia, you should be supporting these women,” the attorney said. “Phylicia, if anyone did to you or to your daughter, your sister or or your mother, what Cosby is alleged to have done to these women, I have no doubt that you would not be saying forget these women.”
