Ciara is back after being off the music scene for almost two years and I am here for it! Minutes after she dropped her new artwork for her brand new single ‘I Bet’…BOOM…she dropped the audio. I. Love. It.
Is it safe to say she’s talking about her baby daddy “Future” on this track? After speculations of her ex-fiancé cheating, their engagement was called off and CiCi took all of her energy and pain to the studio; the two share an eight-month-old son together. She sings about the infidelity, upgrading him, and more.
Ciara gets all in her feelings and does a great job expressing herself when it comes to a man doing her wrong and then regretting it. “I bet you start loving me soon as I start loving someone else, somebody better than you”. She’s no fool, I’ll tell you that, and she gets a little personal and shady on this new track.
She talks about the other woman:
“Is that your b-tch over there? Giving me the ugly stare? The one with the silicon a** and the Brazilian hair.”
Continues on to how she upgraded him:
“You act like you upgraded me, I upgraded you! You and me, fashion week in Paree (Paris), I put you on to that “new”.
Then, expresses that she still cares [tear]:
“I’m singing this song ’cause I love you… Right now it’s killing me ’cause now I have to find someone else when all I wanted was you.”
She’s hurting. It’s clear and she’s making great music through her pain [as they all do] but I hope she finds true love soon.
This is her first single of her upcoming sixth album. Take a listen:
