Journalist Melissa Harris Perry proves that you can’t keep a good woman down as it was announced today that is Elle.com new editor at large. Harris-Perry was terminated from MSNBC because she talked about Beyonce’s political conscious single, “Formation” and Cam Newton. The next day, she walked off the set of her show.
She shared the news on her social media with her fans that have been routing for her. Elle.com’s site director Leah Chernikoff is very excited to have Melissa on board with the website. Although, she is a professor at Wake Forest University, she will not work full time with the website but will produced content to introduced herself to younger women.
Here is what she said about the new opportunity:
“Joiningis an opportunity to combine my expertise as a scholar, my commitments as a public intellectual, and my interests as a woman, I am thrilled to tell my loyal television audience where they can find me and to introduce myself to brand new audiences, all while telling the stories of extraordinary women and girls.”
She also wrote and publish her first story with the site today about the movie, Confirmation and the effects of feminism that premiered this past weekend.
