In the case of Lil Wayne vs. Cash Money Records, Dwayne Carter is suing the label for refusing to pay him millions and delaying his upcoming album, Tha Carter V. We initial reported that the Young Money rapper was owed $8 million but it is indeed $51 million!
Mark Jaffe leaked legal documents from the case so you know it’s real. Wayne is also seeking joint copyright ownership of all Young Money recordings including those of Nicki Minaj, Drake, Tyga, and more. He also wants his artist off the Cash Money Records label altogether.
Sources say when Birdman pays up, Wayne’s camp will allow Tha Carter V to be released. Wayne was supposed to get an $8 million advance when he began recording his album in December 2013 and another $2 million once he completed the album; so far he hasn’t received a coin.
