After opening for the BET Awards and winning the award for Best Male Hip Hop Artist, Kendrick Lamar still reigning supreme as he drops the video his latest single “Alright.” The Compton rapper debuted a black-and-white visual that’s just as provocative as To Pimp a Butterfly. The 7-minute short film directed by Colin Tilley and The Little Homies illustrates the relationship between police and black America.
Kendrick and his TDE crew, ScHoolboy Q, Ab-Soul, and Jay Rock are all seen riding around the city, doing donuts, and throwing money out of the car all while sending the cops on a chase. The TDE crew is set out to celebrate their success, freedom, and safety. And to top it off, Kendrick stunts high above L.A. LIVE as he glides and swings in the air delivering the message that ‘We Gon Be Alright.”
