Kendrick Lamar is gearing up for the release of his upcoming album, To Pimp A Butterfly, but in the meantime, he’s giving us the rundown in the newest issued of Rolling Stone. The lyricist reveals his battle with depression and self-doubt, and his inspiration for the album.
He explains the album is “honest, fearful and unapologetic. You take a black kid out of Compton and put him in the limelight, and you find answers about yourself you never knew you were searching for,” he said in the piece. “There’s some stuff in there, man. It’s a roller coaster. It builds.”
The magazine will hit the stands next week and his album is scheduled to drop March 24th.
