Singer Jennifer Lopez is jumping back into acting game in a major way by portraying the role of drug queen pen Griselda Blanco. The movie is based on the story of Blanco and she is one of the executive producers alongside Elaine Goldsmith-Thomas, Benny Medina, Julie Yorn, and Rick Yorn.
If you’re familiar with Blanco, then you will know that she was a drug dealer back from the 70’s until the 90’s, and her nickname was the Black Widow, and in 2012, she was tragically killed in her hometown of Colombia.
Here is what she told Deadline about playing Blanco:
“I’ve been fascinated by the life of this corrupt and complicated woman for many years, the idea of teaming with HBO felt like the perfect fit for finally bringing Griselda’s story to life.”
Currently, Lopez is gearing up for the second season of her new hit NBC show, Shades Of Blue and also she is working on new music.
