This past weekend, Centric kicked off their new season of Being, which follows the legacy & career of a celebrity and they also celebrate Women’s History Month. The first episode of the new season kicked off with the Queen Of Monday Nights Ms. Mona Scott Young.
We are giving you the top four facts that you probably don’t know about Ms. Young.
1. She didn’t attend college
In the beginning of the episode, Mona revealed that she told her mother that she wasn’t going to pursue in which she wasn’t happy about it.
2. She Worked At Radio City Music Hall
Despite not going to college, Young decided that she was going to get a job and she started working at Radio City Music Hall-which she was an usher and she loved working there.
3. Her Relationship With Chris Lightly
At one of her jobs, she met hip hop manager Chris Lightly and she started working with him at Violator Mangagement, when he was still working at Def Jam. She also met Missy Elliott & Busta Rhymes through him.
4. Love & Hip Hop Was Not The Original Title Of The Reality Show
Mona created The Jim Jones Project for VH1 and Yandy Smith, who was Jones’ manager and a mentee of Mona’s was behind the scenes helping her with the show but eventually it turned into Love & Hip Hop. Now the reality show one of the biggest franchises on tv.
